FAQ Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a web site?
Web sites are one of the least expensive and most flexible forms of advertising. They are targeted to your audience and give you more exposure. Your Website is how your business presents itself to the world. Creating an effective Website is one of the most important things you can do for your business. Unlike printed literature, web sites can be changed and updated as often as you like. A web site provides a means of communicating with your existing and prospective customers, not to mention a variety of other benefits.

How much work would it involve for me?
It starts with the initial meeting with client to determine goals, purpose of site, target audience and integration of web site into existing marketing efforts. We can keep your costs down if you provide us with text (French & English translation), pictures, logos, brochures, catalogues along with any requirements for the design of web site. You will be consulted during the design process and you will be able to view the progress of your web site.

How quickly will website be ready?
It all depends on your participation in project. Have you provided all the necessary text, translation, logo, images, photos? Have you changed your mind several times? These are all factors which will impact on time when website is up and running.

How soon can I get my site online?
It depends on the size of your site, the type of content incorporated into the site, and if programming is required. A one page web site can be done in a matter of hours where an extensive e-commerce site can take weeks or even months. Website Upload - Once your website is approved and search-engine ready, we will transfer the files onto your chosen web host. We will ensure that all necessary scripts, forms and features are working properly.

Who Will Maintain My Site Once It’s Finished?
After your web site is up and running we will make corrections at no charge for thirty (30) days… so this will give you time to add anything you may have missed. Charges will apply after 30 Days.

Who Owns The Web Site?
You retain ownership (copyright) of all original materials (graphics, artwork, photographs, music, etc.) that you provided in building your web site. Once your site is completed and corrections are made, you will receive a CD-ROM with all files, photos, graphics, or other items used to create your web site. All this material will be provided to you on a CD.

Can I see my site while it is worked on?
Yes, you will be kept informed every step of the way. We will provide you with a link to watch the ongoing progress of your site.

How will my customers find me?
Your web site will have its own, stand-alone, unique internet address or "URL". Visitors simply type the URL into the Address Bar on their internet browser, and they'll be taken directly to your web site. We will register your address with the Top Internet Search Engines. We make effective use of metatags so that potential customers have the best chance of finding your site through keyword searches.

Of course, one of the most effective ways for potential customers to find your site is to see it displayed in your print promotions, i.e., yellow pages, newspaper, letterhead, business cards, or other print media. Listing a web site address gives your ad a decisive edge over all the others. Potential customers have the benefit of logging onto your site and instantly accessing detailed information about your practice that simply can't be included in most print ads.

What is a domain name?
Your 'domain name' is the name of the first part of your web site address (for example, Ruzica.ca is our domain name for this site).

How do I get a web site address?
We can set up a web site address for you. The best is to use your business name unless domain name is already taken (please list other possibilities). Please be certain of your desired domain name BEFORE you complete your order. Ruzica.ca can NOT change a domain name for you if you decide later that you'd rather have a different name. There are no refunds on completed domain name registrations. For example, we wanted to use Ruzica.com for our domain but it was already taken. Possible extensions: .com .org .net or country specific extensions.

What is Web Hosting?
'Hosting' refers to the service whereby your web site files reside on a server with a direct access to the internet making it accessible to users of the World Wide Web. This works in isolation from your own computer - you don't need to store any of your own files.

How much do you charge for web site design?
Prices may vary and all depend on the size and complexity of your website.

It depends on a number of factors: How many pages, is there e-commerce, the complexity of the site, how much text needs to be written, will it need to be translated, will you need pictures taken, how many etc.

We do not use templates to design websites so every site is uniquely built to your specifications and needs. During the initial consultation, you get a good idea of a price range.

What we don’t do.
We will not make web sites that are “adult” in nature, promote illegal activities…
